ICSID 2017

ESIS Summer School

Dubrovnik, Croatia, August 14 - 18, 2017

Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee and the Scientific Committee, it is my great pleasure and honor to invite you to the International Conference on Structural Integrity and Durability 2017 (ICSID 2017) and 4th ESIS Summer School to be held in Dubrovnik, Croatia, from 14th to 18th August 2017.

The objective of the ICSID 2017 conference is to bring together scientists and engineers from around the world to discuss how to characterize, analyze, predict and asses the fatigue and fracture of structural materials and components. The ICSID 2017 intends to be a forum for discussion of the present and future trends in experimental, analytical and numerical fracture mechanics, fatigue, structural integrity assessment, failure analysis, and other important topics in the field. Special focus will be given on multi-scale and multi-physics approaches, applications to new materials and environmental effects.

The delegates of the ICSID 2017 conference will have the opportunity to interact and exchange ideas with leading researchers across a wide range of disciplines, and get acquainted with the state of the art in the theory and applications of fatigue and fracture mechanics. The ICSID 2017 conference will further promote cooperation among scientists and experts from university, industry and government involved in the field of the fatigue and fracture of materials and structures. A two-day School on fatigue and fracture modeling and analysis will be organized prior to the Conference, along with a roundtable discussion on the topic how to teach fracture mechanics in the future.

Besides the excellent technical program, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy their stay in Dubrovnik, one of the most famous Mediterranean cities, world celebrated symbol of historical heritage and beauty, which has found its place in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
